Callback Url question

I'm confused how the callback url works.
When I click Log In button, I'm sent to this url that has my callbackURL twice.
How does it set that search param?
How can I make the callbackUrl be the page from whence they clicked the link, instead of the callbackURL being the url they sign in from? I don't want them to go back to the signin page when they click the magic email link, I want them to go back to wherever they came from.
