you can use a cron job. i think vercel has their own custom implementation if your site is hosted there

no it's not compatible with the serverless paradigm

you can do it with other hosts than Next

github actions etc.

the only alternative with Next is running a custom server and self hosting

which is not super recommanded

I'd tend to setup a separate server for cron jobs if you really need that
