Should I use docker to run next development environment?

To give you a context, I'm developing a side project to learn some new tech's, one of them is Docker.
I didn't get if docker are most recomended for deploy/production app's or it should be used on development too. I've create a container to development but the hot reloading is kinda slow.

In vercel docs I've just found docker example to deploying https://nextjs.org/docs/app/building-your-application/deploying#docker-image
