what do you get if you log the result of useSession and maybe just data
as the example i showed you was for server side one, so i have little experance with client side version

u can create a custom type definition for nextauth, like:
import NextAuth from 'next-auth'
declare module 'next-auth' {
interface User {
id?: string | null
name?: string | null
email?: string | null
image?: string | null
}
interface Session {
user: User
expires: ISODateString
}
}that isn't valid because he used console.log which typescript has no say over

@Morelet’s Crocodile To add the user id to the session, you can use the `callbacks` object in your `nextauth.js` file. Here's an example of how you can modify the `session` and `jwt` callbacks to add the user id:
js
callbacks: {
async session({ token, session }) {
if (token) {
session.user.id = token.id;
session.user.name = token.name;
session.user.email = token.email;
session.user.image = token.image;
}
return session;
},
async jwt({ token, user }) {
if (user) {
token.id = user.id;
token.name = user.name;
token.email = user.email;
token.image = user.image;
}
return token;
}
}
Make sure you have these callbacks defined in your `nextauth.js` file.

js
const { data: session } = useSession();

The optional chaining operator (`?.`) will prevent the error if the session or user object is undefined.

if you read the original message, you would see that your code looks exactly like this (and the optional chaining just prevents it erroring, and that isn't present here)
actually i just want to be able to track whos logged in
so maybe theres another solution for that too
sorry for late reply
