I am looking into deploying nextjs incrementally, and came across this https://nextjs.org/blog/incremental-adoption
I wanted to setup nextjs project as Subpath.
http://example.com ==> Should goes to existing website hosted somewhere else
http://example.com/app ==> Should goes to Nextjs website (hosted on Vercel)
How should I setup DNS?

use basePath of /app for the nextjs app
host the nextjs app in a different place, say helloworld.example.com. then the nextjs app will be running on helloworld.example.com/app
configure the example.com server so that all requests to example.com starting with /app will be rewritten to helloworld.example.com
